Add a Publisher

Publishers are affiliates who send traffic to OffZio campaigns. When you add a publisher, you create their company record, their login account, and the relationship your network will use for tracking links, conversions, and payouts.

This guide explains the Create New Publisher form: how to open it, which fields are required, and what happens after you save.

What this page does

Use Add a Publisher when a new affiliate is ready to promote offers on your network. Completing the form creates:

  1. A company profile that appears in the Publisher list and on campaign traffic.
  2. A contact person with a login email and password.
  3. A starting Status (usually Pending until you approve the partner).
  4. An optional address and an assigned OffZio team member (account manager).
  5. Private internal notes that only network staff can see.

Note: The in-app screen title is Create New Publisher and the subtitle is Create a new publisher account. In this help article we call the same action Add a Publisher.

Who can add a publisher

Only a Network Admin can create publisher accounts. Publishers and advertisers cannot add other publishers.

If you need to confirm your role, check the profile card at the bottom of the sidebar or the top-right of the header. It should show a name and role such as OffZio Admin · Network Admin.

How to open the form

You can start from either the Dashboard or the Publisher module:

  1. Sign in as a Network Admin.
  2. On the Dashboard, open the Shortcuts panel and click + Add Publisher.
  3. Or open Publisher in the left sidebar and choose the control that creates a new publisher.

The form opens with two actions in the top-right: Cancel and Save Changes.

Cancel and Save Changes

  1. Cancel — Closes the form without creating a publisher. Unsaved entries are discarded.
  2. Save Changes — Validates the form and creates the publisher if required fields are complete and the passwords match.

Tip: Review the email, status, and assigned team member before you click Save Changes. Those values control how the partner logs in, whether they can start sending traffic, and who owns the relationship inside OffZio.

Required fields

Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) must be filled before OffZio will save the publisher.

  1. Company Name
  2. Status
  3. First Name
  4. Last Name
  5. Email
  6. Password
  7. Confirm Password

Phone, address fields, team assignment, and internal notes can be completed later if you do not have them yet. Password is required and must be at least 6 characters.

General Information

Company Name

Company Name is required. The placeholder is Enter company name.

Enter the publisher’s company or brand name exactly as you want it to appear in OffZio — in the Publisher list, campaign traffic, reports, and payouts. Use the name the affiliate uses with your team, not an internal nickname.

Status

Status is required. It is a dropdown. New publishers are typically created as Pending.

Pending means the account exists, but the partner is not yet fully approved to run traffic under normal network rules. After you review the affiliate (traffic sources, terms, and contact details), change the status to Active from the publisher record when your process allows it.

Note: A publisher left on Pending may not be able to run traffic yet. Creating the account is only the first step. Approve them when onboarding is complete.

Contact

The Contact section creates the person who will sign in to the publisher account.

  1. First Name (required) — Placeholder: John.
  2. Last Name (required) — Placeholder: Doe.
  3. Email (required) — Placeholder: john@example.com. This is the publisher’s login email. It must be unique in OffZio.
  4. Phone (optional) — Placeholder: +1 (555) 000-0000.

Note: The email address is both the contact email and the username for login. Give the partner this email together with the password you set, or ask them to reset it after you create the account.

Password

The Password section shows this instruction: Required for new publishers. Min 6 characters.

  1. Password (required) — The publisher’s login password.
  2. Confirm Password (required) — Must match Password exactly.

OffZio will not save the form if the two passwords differ or if the password is shorter than 6 characters. Share the password through a secure channel. Do not put it in Internal Note unless your team’s policy requires a temporary record.

Tip: Use a unique, strong password of at least 6 characters. Avoid reusing a password from another publisher, advertiser, or internal OffZio account.

Address

Address fields are optional at create time, but filling them now helps payouts and record-keeping later.

  1. Country — Dropdown. Placeholder: Select country.
  2. State — Placeholder: California.
  3. City — Placeholder: Los Angeles.
  4. Postal Code — Placeholder: 90001.
  5. Street Address — Placeholder: 123 Main Street.

Administrative

Assign to Team Member

Assign to Team Member is a dropdown. The placeholder is Select team member.

This sets the internal OffZio user who owns the publisher relationship. That person becomes the account manager for follow-up, tracking-link questions, and quality review. Assign the teammate who will actually work with this affiliate.

Internal Note

Internal Note is a free-text area. The placeholder is Internal notes (not visible to publisher).

Use it for private network information: traffic sources, geo or vertical restrictions, payout expectations, or why the affiliate was onboarded. These notes stay inside OffZio for Network Admins and staff. They are not shown to the publisher when they log in.

Note: Never put the publisher’s password, payment details, or other secrets in Internal Note if your security policy forbids it. Treat the field as visible to other network staff.

Step-by-step: add a publisher

  1. Open + Add Publisher from Dashboard Shortcuts or from the Publisher menu.
  2. Enter Company Name.
  3. Confirm Status. Leave it on Pending unless your process creates approved affiliates immediately.
  4. Enter First NameLast Name, and a unique Email.
  5. Optionally add Phone.
  6. Create a password of at least 6 characters and enter the same value in Confirm Password.
  7. Fill Address if you have it.
  8. Choose the correct person in Assign to Team Member.
  9. Add any private comments in Internal Note.
  10. Click Save Changes.
  11. If something is missing, fix the highlighted required fields and save again.

What happens after you save

When save succeeds, OffZio creates the publisher record and login. You can then:

  1. Find the company in the Publisher list.
  2. Tell the contact to sign in with the Email and Password you set.
  3. Review the affiliate and change status from Pending to Active when they are approved to send traffic.
  4. Give them campaign access and tracking links so they can start promoting offers.
  5. Use Login as Publisher from the Dashboard Shortcuts if you need to confirm what the partner sees.

Tip: After you use Login as Publisher, return to your Network Admin session before you change Settings or approve billing.

Best practices

  1. Use the real company or affiliate name, not a temporary label like “Test pub”.
  2. Use a unique email the partner actually checks. Duplicate emails will fail on save.
  3. Set a strong password of at least 6 characters and confirm it carefully.
  4. Create most new publishers as Pending, then approve them after you review traffic sources.
  5. Assign the team member who will manage the account day to day.
  6. Put only internal context in Internal Note. The publisher cannot see it.
  7. Create the publisher first, then attach them to campaigns and issue tracking links.

Common issues

  1. Passwords do not match — Re-enter Password and Confirm Password so they are identical, and check that both are at least 6 characters.
  2. Email already exists — That address is already used by another OffZio user. Use a different email, or open the existing publisher instead of creating a duplicate.
  3. Missing required fields — Complete every field marked with a red asterisk (*): Company Name, Status, First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, and Confirm Password.
  4. Publisher is still Pending — The account was created, but they may not run traffic yet. Change status to Active after your review.
  5. Wrong team member selected — Change Assign to Team Member before saving, or edit the publisher after save if the wrong manager was chosen.
