Traffic Types Settings
Traffic types describe how an offer is delivered — push, native, email, pop, display, in-app, and similar channels. Publishers use them to see whether a campaign matches the traffic they actually send.
This is different from Campaign Categories. A category is the offer vertical (for example Dating or E-commerce). A traffic type is the media or placement. One Dating campaign can be Push; another Dating campaign can be Native.
What traffic types are for
In OffZio, advertisers fund campaigns and publishers send traffic to those offers. Traffic types sit on the campaign so you can:
- Label the allowed or intended channel (push, email, pop, and so on).
- Help publishers pick offers that match their inventory.
- Keep the campaign catalog easier to scan as the network grows.
Note: A traffic type is a reusable label. You add it once in Settings, then select it when you create or edit a campaign. Adding a type does not create a campaign.
Tip: For offer verticals (Lead Generation, Finance, Dating), use Settings → Campaign Management → Categories & Tags. That workflow is documented in Campaign Categories.
Who can manage traffic types
Only a Network Admin can add traffic types. Publishers and advertisers cannot open this Settings page.
Confirm your role on the sidebar profile card if you are unsure. It should show a name and role such as OffZio Admin · Network Admin.
How to open Traffic Types
- Sign in as a Network Admin.
- In the left sidebar, click Settings.
- Under Campaign Management, click Traffic Types.
The title is Traffic Types. The subtitle reads: Manage traffic types for your campaigns. A banner repeats: Manage traffic types for organizing your campaigns. The primary button is + Add Traffic Type.
How to read the grid
Existing types appear as cards (tiles) with a folder or truck-style icon and the type name. OffZio may already include platform defaults. Names you might see — for illustration only — include:
- In-Console, In-Video, Content Locking, Push Notification, Email, Native
- In-Game, In-Image, Toolbar, SMS, Pop, Social
- In-Ad, In-Text, Chat, Redirect, Push, Search
- In-Page, Video, In-App, Incent, Display
Your live grid shows the defaults plus any names your network has added. Scan the cards before you create a new type so you do not add a near-duplicate.
Note: This article documents viewing the list and adding a type. It does not describe an editor, delete control, or reorder tool. If a card is clickable in your build, use only what the product shows — do not expect a full editor from this help page.
Add New Traffic Type
Click + Add Traffic Type. OffZio opens Add New Traffic Type.
- Name — Placeholder: e.g., Display, Native, Push.
- Add — Creates the type and closes the dialog.
- Cancel — Closes the dialog without creating a type.
Step-by-step: add a traffic type
- Open Settings → Campaign Management → Traffic Types.
- Scan the grid. If Push or Push Notification already exists, do not add a second similar name unless you truly need both.
- Click + Add Traffic Type.
- Enter a clear Name publishers will recognize — for example Display, Native, or Pop.
- Click Add.
- Confirm the new card appears in the grid.
What happens after you add a type
The new traffic type appears in the list. Network Admins can then select it when they create or edit a campaign. Publishers do not manage this list; they see the names you attach to offers.
Note: Adding a traffic type does not change live campaigns until you assign that type on the campaign form.
Best practices
- Use names publishers already understand: Display, Native, Push, Pop, Email, In-App.
- Do not create both Push and Push Notification unless your team treats them as different products.
- Keep types for delivery channel. Put verticals (Dating, Finance) in Campaign Categories, not here.
- Add a custom type only when the default grid is missing a channel you sell.
- Create the type before you bulk-create campaigns so every new offer can be labeled immediately.
Common issues
- Empty name — Enter a name, then click Add.
- Duplicate or confusing names — Check the grid first. Prefer one label per channel.
- Cannot find the page — Traffic types are not under the Campaign sidebar item. Open Settings → Campaign Management → Traffic Types.
- Type exists but campaigns do not show it — Open the campaign and select the traffic type. Adding it in Settings only expands the list.
