Contacts Media Settings
Contacts Media is the network’s list of chat and messaging channels publishers (affiliates) can choose when they sign up or provide contact information. A publisher selects a channel (Telegram, WhatsApp, Skype, and so on) and then enters their handle.
The page title is Contacts Media. The banner reads: Manage contact media channels for your network. A count follows, for example 9 channels configured. Use + Add Media to create a channel.
What Contacts Media control
Each row is a channel type you offer to affiliates — not a staff inbox and not a message log.
- Active channels appear as choices when a publisher signs up or updates contact details.
- The publisher picks a channel, then types the handle for that app.
- This list is the catalog of available types. It does not store a specific publisher’s Telegram ID or WhatsApp number.
Note: This page is not the same as a manager’s Contact Methods on Team Members. Team Members stores Telegram, Skype, WhatsApp, or other handles so assigned partners can reach that manager. Contacts Media only defines which channel types publishers may select for their own contact info.
Who can change Contacts Media
Only a Network Admin should add or edit channels. Publishers and advertisers cannot open this page.
Confirm your role on the sidebar profile card if you are unsure. It should show a name and role such as OffZio Admin · Network Admin.
How to open Contacts Media
- Sign in as a Network Admin.
- In the left sidebar, click Settings.
- Under Communication, click Contact Media.
How this relates to publisher signup
Public publisher registration is turned on or off in Sign Up Page Settings (Publisher Sign Up → Allow Sign Up). Contacts Media does not enable signup. It only decides which messaging apps an affiliate can pick when they give contact details.
You can still add a publisher yourself from Add a Publisher. Use the same channel names affiliates already know so staff and self-registered partners describe contact the same way.
Note: This article does not invent extra signup-form fields beyond the channel list and the publisher choosing a type, then entering a handle.
The channel list
Each row shows an icon, the channel name, and a status badge (for example active).
Default names you may see (illustrations, not a required set):
- Snapchat
- Discord
- Facebook Messenger
- Line
- Telegram
- Viber
- Skype
In the product these examples were all shown as Active. Your count (for example 9 channels configured) should match how many rows you keep.
Add vs Edit
+ Add Media creates a new channel. The Add form was not screenshotted; treat it as the same kind of fields as Edit: Name and Status. This article does not invent extra fields such as custom icons, URLs, or country codes.
Open a row to edit it. The modal title is Edit Contact Media.
- Name (required) — For example, Telegram.
- Status — For example, Active.
- Cancel — Closes without saving.
- Update — Applies the name and status.
This article does not document a delete control. To stop offering a channel on signup, set Status so it is not Active if the product allows an inactive value.
Active vs not active
- Active — Publishers can select this channel when they sign up or provide contact information, then enter a handle.
- Not active — The channel stays in your list for admins but is not offered on signup.
Tip: Keep only the apps your team actually uses to reach affiliates. Extra unused channels clutter the signup choice.
Common tasks
Add a channel
- Open Settings → Communication → Contact Media.
- Click + Add Media.
- Enter a Name publishers will recognize (for example Telegram).
- Set Status to Active if affiliates should see it on signup.
- Save the new channel.
Rename or edit a channel
- Open the channel row (for example Telegram).
- Change Name if needed. Keep the spelling affiliates already use.
- Set Status to Active or not active.
- Click Update, or Cancel to leave the row unchanged.
Prepare channels for publisher signup
- Review the list. Confirm every Active name matches an app you support.
- Add any missing channel with + Add Media.
- Set unused defaults to not active so they do not appear on signup.
- If you want public registration, turn on Allow Sign Up for publishers in Sign Up Page Settings and save there.
- Complete a test publisher signup (or Add a Publisher) and confirm only the intended channels appear.
Best practices
- Use names publishers already know: WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype — not internal nicknames.
- Do not keep every default if your team never messages on that app.
- Remember Team Members Contact Methods are for manager reachability; Contacts Media is the affiliate’s choice list.
- After you rename a popular channel, tell staff so they look for the new label on publisher records.
