Campaign Categories
Campaign categories are labels you create so OffZio can group offers by type. When staff and partners browse campaigns, a clear category — such as Lead Generation or E-commerce — makes the right offer easier to find than an ungrouped list.
This guide shows a Network Admin how to open Categories & Tags and add a new category. It does not cover creating tags in depth.
What campaign categories are for
In OffZio, advertisers fund campaigns and publishers send traffic to those offers. Categories sit above individual campaigns.
They answer “what kind of offer is this?” so you can:
- Organize the campaign catalog by vertical or offer type.
- Help Network Admins assign the right category when they create or edit a campaign.
- Help staff and partners scan for campaigns they actually want to run.
- Keep reporting and day-to-day operations easier as the network grows.
Note: A category is a reusable folder-style label. You create it once in Settings, then select it on campaigns. You do not create a new category every time you add a single offer.
Who can create categories
Only a Network Admin can add campaign categories. Publishers and advertisers cannot change Categories & Tags.
If you need to confirm your role, check the profile card at the bottom of the sidebar or the top-right of the header. It should show a name and role such as OffZio Admin · Network Admin.
Note: Category names are network-wide. Choose wording the whole team will understand, not a nickname only one manager uses.
How to open Categories & Tags
- Sign in as a Network Admin.
- In the main left sidebar, click Settings.
- Under Campaign Management, click Categories & Tags.
The page uses a Settings breadcrumb. The title is Categories and Tags. The subtitle reads Organize your offers with categories and tags.
Categories tab vs Tags tab
The same Settings page has two tabs, each with a count:
- Categories — Groups offers by type (this article). When this tab is active, the page shows Manage categories for organizing your offers and the + Add Category button.
- Tags — Additional labels on the same page. Use Tags when you need extra keywords. Creating tags is a separate task; stay on Categories to add a category.
Tip: If + Add Category is missing, you are probably on the Tags tab. Click Categories first.
How to read the category list
On the Categories tab, existing categories appear as cards (tiles) with a folder icon and the category name. Examples you might already see include Lead Generation, E-commerce, and General. Your live list will show the names your network has created.
Use this list to confirm a category already exists before you add another with a similar name.
Add New Category
Click + Add Category. OffZio opens the Add New Category dialog.
- Name (required) — Marked with a red asterisk (*). Placeholder: Enter category name.
- Cancel — Closes the dialog without creating a category.
- Add — Saves the category (checkmark control). OffZio will not add a category if Name is empty.
Step-by-step: create a category
- Open Settings in the left sidebar.
- Under Campaign Management, click Categories & Tags.
- Select the Categories tab if it is not already active.
- Scan the existing cards so you do not create a duplicate.
- Click + Add Category.
- Enter a clear Name — for example, Lead Generation, E-commerce, Finance, or Dating.
- Click Add.
- If Name is empty, fill it and click Add again.
What happens after you add a category
When Add succeeds, the new category appears in the Categories list as another folder card. Network Admins can then select that category when they create or edit a campaign.
Publishers and advertisers do not manage this list. They benefit when campaigns are filed under names they recognize.
Note: Adding a category does not create a campaign. It only adds a label you can attach to offers later from the Campaign module.
Best practices
- Use short, clear names: Lead Generation, E-commerce, Finance, Dating, General.
- Avoid near-duplicates such as “Ecom” and “E-commerce” unless your team truly needs both.
- Prefer one category per vertical. Use the Tags tab for extra keywords instead of inventing many tiny categories.
- Create categories before you bulk-create campaigns so every new offer can be filed immediately.
- Keep names professional. These labels appear across campaign setup for the whole OffZio network.
Common issues
- Empty name — Name is required. Enter a category name, then click Add.
- Duplicate or confusing names — Check the existing cards first. Do not add “Lead Gen” if Lead Generation already exists.
- Wrong tab — The Tags tab will not create a category. Switch to Categories and use + Add Category.
- Cannot find the page — Categories are not under the Campaign sidebar item. Open Settings, then Campaign Management → Categories & Tags.
