Campaign Approval Questions Settings

Campaign Approval Questions are custom fields a publisher must answer when they apply to an offer whose availability is Requires Approval. Use them to collect the information you need before you grant campaign access — for example, traffic source or geos.

This Settings page is where a Network Admin builds the question list and chooses whether those questions attach automatically to new approval-required offers. It is not a campaign editor and not an applications inbox.

What these questions are for

Some OffZio campaigns are open; others require a publisher to request access. When a campaign requires approval, you can ask the applicant extra questions so your team can review the request with context:

  1. What traffic source they will use.
  2. How they will promote the offer.
  3. Any other detail you need before you approve or deny access.

Note: Adding questions here does not create a campaign and does not approve a publisher. You still set the campaign’s availability to Requires Approval on the offer, and you still review each request in the campaign workflow you already use.

Who can manage approval questions

Only a Network Admin can add or change these questions. Publishers answer them when they apply; they cannot edit this Settings list.

Confirm your role on the sidebar profile card if you are unsure. It should show a name and role such as OffZio Admin · Network Admin.

How to open Campaign Approval Questions

  1. Sign in as a Network Admin.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Settings.
  3. Under Campaign Management, click Campaign Approval.

The title is Campaign Approval Questions. The subtitle reads: Configure custom questions for campaign approval requests.

Empty list vs after you add questions

The page section is Custom Approval Questions. A counter shows Questions (0) when none exist.

When the list is empty, OffZio shows: No questions added yet. Click 'Add Question' to create your first approval question. Use + Add Question to create the first one.

After you add questions, the same page lists them and the counter increases. Publishers only see these fields on approval-required campaigns that use this question set (including new offers when the default toggle is on).

Set Approval Questions by Default

A toggle labeled Set Approval Questions by Default is shown OFF until you enable it.

Help text: If enabled, the questions above will be activated automatically for all new offers with availability 'Requires Approval'.

  1. OFF — New approval-required offers do not automatically receive this question list.
  2. ON — New offers created with availability Requires Approval get these questions activated automatically.

Note: This applies to new offers with Requires Approval. Existing campaigns are not rewritten from this toggle unless you change them on the campaign itself. This article does not describe a retroactive “apply to all live offers” action.

Tip: Click Save Changes after you change the default toggle (and after any list change that the page expects you to save). An unsaved toggle is not live.

Add New Question

Click + Add Question. OffZio opens Add New Question.

  1. Question Label (required) — Placeholder: e.g., What is your traffic source? This is the text the publisher sees.
  2. Field Type — Dropdown, default Text. Options: Text, Textarea, Select Dropdown, Radio Buttons, Checkboxes.
  3. Required Field — Checkbox. Can be left unchecked for an optional question.
  4. Add Question — Saves the question to the list.
  5. Cancel — Closes the modal without adding.

Field types in plain language

  1. Text — One short line (for example a URL or a few words).
  2. Textarea — A longer written answer.
  3. Select Dropdown — The publisher picks one option from a list.
  4. Radio Buttons — The publisher picks one option, shown as radio choices.
  5. Checkboxes — The publisher can select more than one option.

Select Dropdown, Radio Buttons, and Checkboxes are multiple-choice styles. If the modal shows extra fields for choices after you pick one of those types, fill those choices in the same modal. This article does not invent a separate option-list builder.

Required vs optional

  1. Required Field checked — The publisher must answer before they can submit the approval request.
  2. Required Field unchecked — The publisher can skip the question.

Tip: Mark a question required only when you will not review the application without that answer. Too many required fields slow good publishers down.

Step-by-step: add a question and turn on the default

  1. Open Settings → Campaign Management → Campaign Approval.
  2. Click + Add Question.
  3. Enter a clear Question Label — for example, What is your traffic source?
  4. Choose a Field Type. Use Text or Textarea unless you need a fixed list of answers.
  5. If you chose Select Dropdown, Radio Buttons, or Checkboxes and the modal asks for choices, enter those choices there.
  6. Check Required Field only if the answer is mandatory.
  7. Click Add Question.
  8. Repeat for each question you need. Ask only what you will actually read.
  9. If new Requires Approval offers should use this list automatically, turn Set Approval Questions by Default ON.
  10. Click Save Changes.

Best practices

  1. Keep labels specific: “What is your traffic source?” is better than “Details.”
  2. Start with one or two questions. You can add more later.
  3. Use Text for short facts and Textarea for explanations.
  4. Use multiple-choice types when you want comparable answers (for example a short list of allowed sources).
  5. Turn the default toggle on only after the question list is ready. It affects new Requires Approval offers.
  6. Categories and traffic types organize the catalog; these questions collect application answers. See Campaign Categories and Traffic Types Settings for those labels.

Common issues

  1. Empty label — Question Label is required. Enter the question text, then click Add Question.
  2. Default toggle did not change old campaigns — Expected. The help text applies to new offers with Requires Approval.
  3. Questions exist but a new offer did not show them — Confirm the offer availability is Requires Approval, the default toggle is ON, and you clicked Save Changes.
  4. Cannot find the page — Open Settings → Campaign Management → Campaign Approval, not the Campaign sidebar list.
